Friulane Story

The history of Friulane slippers, also known as Furlane, is quite intriguing. They first appeared in Friuli, Italy in the 19th century, crafted by women for their families using scraps of fabric and materials.

These slippers were initially reserved for special events, but gained popularity during World War II due to the scarcity of resources. Interestingly, gondoliers in Venice also favored these shoes for their comfort and rubber soles that did not harm the gondolas and that provided a secure grip while rowing.

Today, Friulane slippers are enjoying a resurgence, offering both comfort and style, making them a versatile shoe for any occasion.
